Commitment Article Signing Week: Gilchrist heads to Athens by Julie Wrege, 15 November 2007
The #1-ranked recruit this year is Nadja Gilchrist (Webster, NY). Gilchrist's resume includes fifteen wins over Blue Chip and international opponents and an appearance in the finals at the Easter Bowl this past April.
Everyone always wants to keep tabs on #1, especially when she is college-bound. And earlier this month, Gilchrist announced her intention to sign with Jeff Wallace's
Georgia Bulldogs. Today, the highly-recruited senior stops by to comment on her college decision.
Let's hear what she has to say...
College Decision
TennisRecruiting.net: Congratulations on your decision to attend the University of Georgia. What were the primary factors that went into your decision?
Nadja Gilchrist: Thank you. Choosing Georgia was a combination of several things. I liked the community, the coaches, and the team. I also placed a high priorty on getting a good education, so I needed a school that would work for me as a person and not just as a player.
