Signing Week Commitment Signing Week: Mather is off to Gainesville by Julie Wrege, 16 November 2007
We wrap up our Signing Week commitment announcements with Blue Chip senior Joanna Mather (Duluth, Ga.). Today, Mather announces her choice from among five southeastern schools: Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, and Florida State.

And we won't keep you in suspense any longer. While all of these schools have strong tennis programs, Mather selected the Florida Gators.
The NCAA has crowned national champions in women's tennis for the past twenty-six years, and the University of Florida has claimed four of those titles. Their most recent NCAA team championship came in 2003. Over the years, Florida women have also claimed four singles and four doubles titles.
The Gators are looking to improve upon their Elite Eight finish in 2007, and Mather should play an important role in the future.
We talked with the 5'6" athlete about her decision process.
