Signing Week: Jared Pinsky Decides
by Julie Wrege, 9 November 2006
The most highly-regarded male recruit in the mid-Atlantic states is Jared Pinsky (Potomac, MD). Pinsky, who just turned 17 this past summer, dominated the Boys' 16s division on his way to a #1 national ranking last spring.
Now in his first year in the 18s, Pinsky posted eight wins over the summer in the premier national events - the
Claycourts,
National Team Championships, and
Hardcourts.
Pinsky would be a fantastic addition to any college program. On the court, the lefthander has an aggressive, attacking, all-court game. And in the classroom, Pinsky is a straight-A student who ranks in the top 10% of his class at Winston Churchill High School.
The combination of academics, athleticism, and demonstrated performance always attracts attention from college coaches. Pinsky was pursued by a who's who of programs from top schools - Stanford, Virginia, Penn, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Illinois, and Duke.
Today, Pinsky is ready to announce his choice.
