Blue Chip Bigun Values Ivy League Credentials at Princeton

Meecah Bigun (WTN: 12.5) was considering non-Ivy League schools throughout his recruiting process. But once he decided to commit, the academic prestige was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.

The blue chip senior committed to Princeton. Bigun’s top four colleges were Princeton, UCLA, Harvard or Georgia.
“If I was going to school, I might as well try to get the best education possible. I think a lot of guys are starting to think that way now,” Bigun said. “Because if you have good grades, you can always go back later, but it would be tough to get into an Ivy League school again without tennis. It’s practically impossible.”
Bigun’s twin brother Kaylan has signed with UCLA, where they used to live and still have family in the area.
“He wanted something a little bit more relaxed and tennis focused. I wanted a little bit of a higher education,” he said. “Obviously, it would have been nice to go together but we are different people with different needs.”
