USTA Names American Junior Nominations for World Team Events
Share:

The USTA announced on Tuesday the 12 juniors nominated to represent the United States in the qualifying rounds of the Junior Davis Cup and Junior Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas (16-and-under) and the ITF World Junior Tennis (14-and-under), the world’s premier junior team competitions. The events will be played April 20-22 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.

The North/Central American and Caribbean final qualifying rounds consist of three days of round-robin play, with each matchup consisting of two singles matches and one doubles match. The top two countries from each four-country pool will advance to the event finals later this year.

The 2023 Junior Davis Cup and Junior Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas Finals will take place in the fall at a location to be determined, while the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals will take place Aug. 7-12 in Prostejov, Czech Republic.

The U.S Junior Billie Jean King Cup team enters this year’s competition as the reigning champions after winning a record-extending seventh championship in 2022. The U.S. Junior Davis Cup team finished runner-up last year, while both World Junior Tennis teams finished third.
