The NCAA Division I Council plans to vote in April on lifting the ban on in-person recruiting that has been in place for more than a year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The NCAA announced Thursday that member schools “generally support” lifting the extended dead period and bringing back in-person recruiting by June 1. The current dead period is in place through May 31.
The NCAA said council members discussed returning all sports back to regular recruiting calendars on June 1 or bringing back activities such as official and unofficial visits beginning June 1 and a return to normal recruiting calendars for all sports on Aug. 1.
